Back in 2014, a rumor surfaced that Legendary Pictures was developing a feature film based on Marvel's Namor the Sub-Mariner. Universal Pictures apparently owned the rights to it. Later on, Kevin Feige said that things were a bit more complicated than that.
Well, it sounds like the complications are no longer an issue because Marvel CCO Joe Quesada has indicated that the rights to the King of Atlantis are back with Marvel. During an appearance on Kevin Smith's Fat Man on Batman podcast, Quesada was asked if Namor is part of the MCU and if they had the film rights, and this was his reply:
"I can't speak for studios...As far as I know, yeah we do. It’s not at Fox, it’s not at Sony...Yeah."As CCO, Quesada is a pretty well-informed guy at Marvel, and this is something I believe he would have knowledge of. When asked if Namor would end up being a part of the MCU, he said:
