Ever since Marvel launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the most requested heroes was T’Challa, the prince and future king of Wakanda and heir to the Black Panther mantle. After a long wait, fans finally got to see him on the big screen earlier this year in Captain America: Civil War. Chadwick Boseman was one of the standouts from the ensemble and made his upcoming solo film, Black Panther, a highly anticipated film for the majority of movie-goers.
Over the past month, the supporting cast surrounding Boseman has been filling out with both Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o joining the film. As the gears up to start production early next year, the rest of the cast will start to come together. As has become typical for Marvel movies, filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta is a given for many of these and will be the same for Black Panther. Where else will it film? Well, a new report from Marvelous Realm says that the film will also be shooting in Chicago and Singapore. They also reiterate a previous report about Marvel wanting to film in Africa, but they have been told it will in fact happen.
We have to remember that this is a large and diverse country so the Chicago skyline, the bright lights of Singapore, or the range of locations in South Africa can all make up the highly unique and advanced look that Wakanda should have.
