Official Synopsis Released For Freeform's Upcoming Cloak And Dagger Series

While a showrunner has yet to be announced for the upcoming series, Freeform has finally released a full synopsis for their upcoming Cloak & Dagger TV series. And unsurprisingly, they reaffirm that this take on the characters is aimed at young adults. For some, this may seem worrisome, especially considering it’s already worrying that the series will be placed on Freeform as opposed to ABC or Netflix, where the other Marvel shows have found a decent amount of success. However, until a showrunner (and writing staff) is announced – as well as the cast – it’s important to keep an open mind. A synopsis is merely a short description of an overall story.
Here’s the official synopsis for Cloak & Dagger below provided by Freeform:
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.

Cloak & Dagger is set to premiere on Freeform sometime in 2017, so it can be assumed that a showrunner announcement is more than likely right around the corner.
