Captain America: Civil War - Opening Day

Last night, Captain America: Civil War officially began hitting movie theaters stateside, and to the surprise of no one, managed to pull in an impressive amount of business in Thursday showings. The film opened to an estimated $25 Million last night, which is a huge increase over the $10.2 Million Captain America: The Winter Soldier pulled in on its Thursday opening back in 2014. Even more impressive? The film only falls slightly short of Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s Thursday opening last year, which raked in $27.6 Million in Thursday previews. As of right now, the film is expected to open to $200 Million this weekend.

The domestic debut is expected to take in around $200 million at 4,226 locations this weekend, marking a spectacular start to the summer box office.

If projections hold, “Captain America: Civil War” would be the fourth-highest opener of all time, behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at $248 million, “Jurassic World” at $208.8 million and “Marvel’s The Avengers” at $207.4 million. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is currently in fourth with $191.3 million.

Captain America: Civil War is officially out in theaters today!

Avengers: Infinity War (News)

Major Marvel Character Accidentally Confirmed for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

While attending an event at the Smithsonian Institute, the Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo's were talking about their upcoming Marvel film Infinity War. While talking about the movie they just happened to mention Captain Marvel. A fan jumped in and asked if they just confirmed Captain Marvel for the movie to which Russo replied, "Um....Captain Barvel. Totally different character."

You can read all of the reactions to the Russo's accidental reveal here. Like I said, knowing that we are getting a Captain Marvel solo film before Infinity War comes out, it was safe to assume that she would play a part in the story. I guess it's nice to have confirmation, though!

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is set to be released on May 4th 2018

What would it take to become a real-life superhero?

What would it take to become a real-life superhero?

(CNN)If watching "Captain America: Civil War" this weekend revives your childhood dreams of becoming a superhero, technology may be on your side to make it happen -- but science is a little more discouraging.
Technologically speaking, becoming Iron Man could be feasible by enhancing your strength through a mechanical device, especially in comparison to becoming Captain America. Modifying your makeup through gene therapy or the next generation of steroids faces more ethical challenges -- as well as scientific limitations.

Science fiction and science fact have long shared an interchangeable dialogue of inspiring each other.

"(They) provide inspiration and whimsy," said Gary May, dean of the College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. "We can enable ourselves to achieve what we couldn't before."

CNN spoke to experts in the field to learn the science behind a few of the superheroes featured in the next installment of the Marvel movie franchise -- and what would happen if one of their origin stories happened to you.

'Captain America: Civil War': What the critics are saying

Looks like Marvel has yet another hit on their hands...

From Article on Cnn.com

As of Thursday, Civil War had a score of 76 on Metacritic and 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics impressed by the Marvel film's clash of the heroes as well as the new faces, Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther. For comparison, "Captain America: The First Avenger" got 66 on Metacritic and The Winter Soldier got a score of 70. "First Avenger" also scored 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with "Winter Soldier" ranking in at 89 percent.

Most critics have released rave reviews, with only some on the fence who are saying the latest Marvel film gets to be too much for viewers as it adds characters to the seemingly never-ending Marvel Universe.

I plan on see it over the weekend and cant wait.
