Spider-Man: Homecoming

Hot on the heels of releasing Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer #3, Marvel went ahead and released the second international trailer for overseas audiences. The new international trailer has completely new footage from the movie which shows off the true nature of Peter Parker, the high schooler. That said, the new trailer is totally different from what U.S. audiences just saw as the latest trailer dropped.

Guardians of the Galaxy (News)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is continuing upon the surprise success of the first film with a larger opening weekend, around $146 million, it topped its predecessor’s $94 million. With more theater showings and a larger budget, many people wondered how much money the sequel will manage to make and if it will be able to join the $1 billion club. We have reached the third weekend and the film is projected to marginally beat out by the R-rated Alien: Covenant, making $35 million to Covenant‘s $36 million. It must be noted that with such a small margin the two could end up switching positions after final tallies.

Marvel TV – Inhumans

Earlier this month, a few lucky fans were given the chance to watch first-look footage of Marvel’s Inhumans. The series, which is set to debut later this fall, will see heroes like Black Bolt and Medusa flee to Earth when their home world is faced with a royal coup. While fans are excited to see the royal family team up against Maxiumus’ betrayal, there is one character whose debut is bringing all the hype. And, now, a short video of Lockjaw has hit the Internet to the delight of fans.
While the full trailer for Marvel’s Inhumans has yet to drop, one Twitter user has managed to find footage of Lockjaw’s reported part in the video. User @AreYouInhumans posted the short clip online and tagged Mark Kolpack, a visual effects supervisor on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

Marvel TV – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Renewal and Cancellation season has finally arrived and with it the wait has finally come to an end, as shortly before the last episode releases for Season 4 of  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , ABC revealed if we can anticipate the show to return for another season. Its current run has proven to be quite an interesting one, as not only did they shake it up with splitting the season into three distinct pods, Ghost Rider, LMD and Agents of HYDRA, but the show also managed to stay surprisingly consistent in its ratings on ABC’s infamous death slot on Tuesday’s at 10 pm.

SHIELD has officially been renewed for another season consisting of 22 episodes. The show averaged around 4.3 million total viewers and a 1.5 in the 18-49 demographic in its fourth season, and will now be joining ABC’s other renewed shows for the upcoming TV season. So far it seems it will remain on its 10 pm slot, but it is still unknown if it will air on the same day as ABC’s other upcoming Marvel series, Inhumans.

Marvel TV – Defenders

I don’t know about y’all but I’m still reeling in from that incredible trailer for The Defenders. I think it’s because of the fact that I watched the video 4 million times. All jokes aside, the trailer for The Defenders did fantastic last night, amassing more than 4 million views after 24 hours and 2 million in less than 10 hours. That’s some crazy numbers right there considering it’s for a TV show.

The Defenders will debut exclusively on Netflix August 18th 2017

Marvel debuts the first teaser poster for 'Inhumans'

While 2017 is a big year for Marvel’s films, it’s also a big one for the small screen, as we prepare for an epic finale to the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and prep for the debut of Inhumans later this year. Ahead of that release, Marvel has just released the first teaser poster for the show…

This first poster doesn’t give us a ton of information regarding the show, or even a peek at the characters, but it does give us a look at a symbol that’s instantly recognizable by fans of the comics as Black Bolt’s iconic symbol. It’s still unknown if the character will be in his comic costume, but this symbol gives us more hope than the on-set images did.

Marvel TV – Agents of Shield

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been bringing back former characters, including those who have died, in their recent storyline “Agents of Hyrda.”  The “What if?” storyline is a perfect place to be able to give fans a good look at those who they miss from the show.  After seeing Agent Ward and Trip return, another character looks to be back on tap for the season finale.  Ghost Rider is due back to help take care of the LMD problem that Coulson and company have been battling.

This tweet was in response to the news being broken via TVLine.com.  Not much more information is available except that his return will specifically be due to an attempt by Aida to end the world as we know it.  Tying up the two major storylines of the season makes a lot of sense.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Explodes to $100 Million Plus International Box Office

This weekend Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opened in 37 markets over the weekend, including much of Europe and the Antipodean nations.  The overall haul was very close to the predictions for the weekend, coming in just over the $100 million projection at $101.2 million.  The result was better than most Marvel sequels, with the film playing a little closer to the third film in a trilogy than the second.

Comparing “International Openings” is a difficult thing to do.  The 37 markets which opened this weekend are not the same markets which opened Guardians of the Galaxy in its first weekend.  So, here is how the film has fared, according to Deadline data.  The United Kingdom opened up 86%, Australia 27%, Germany 6%, France 36%, and Mexico 60%.  (Australia’s weekend number is affected by the massive sales earlier in the week for ANZAC Day.)  Even if overall Vol. 2 only raised 30-40% across the board, that means it’s in line for an overall international take of $572-616 million.

Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on May 5th 2017
