Captain America: Civil War (Concept Art)

Captain America: Civil War was an artistic masterpiece, giving fans intricate special effects, new heroes, and the first views of Wakanda, a country that will be heavily featured in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Black Panther film. To put together a film with so many properties involved, with such epic fight scenes, and with so many locations, the vision for the film is put together very early with a variety of concept art. Many talented artists are brought in to develop these concepts, and we have seen some of their work in various forms earlier this year.

While the art for the fight scenes was important for the choreography of the movie, it’s possible that the early views of Wakanda were even more important, setting up the world in which T’Challa reigns. While Wakanda was only shown in a brief clip mid-credits, as a foggy jungle, we will see far more of it when the Black Panther gets his full feature film. Concept Artist Andrew Leung has shared his original concept art for the view of Wakanda, giving us a view of the skyline of the fictional country. Leung also shared an unused idea for Tony Stark’s house, and some original concepts for the Raft, where several of our heroes are still imprisoned.

Spider-Man: Homecoming - Official Trailer

Spider-Man: Homecoming (Teaser Trailer

Over the weekend, we got details on the first footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, Marvel and Sony have debuted that footage online, and it doesn't disappoint. It also comes with the exciting news that the full trailer will drop tomorrow, December 8, before you can see it on the big screen with the theatrical premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

This first look preview from Homecoming kicks off in an entirely new fashion for Marvel. It looks and feels like a found footage movie shot from Peter Parker's perspective. We get a peek at Tom Holland's make-shift Spidey costume before Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan interrupts the scene. The two are standing in a hotel room. Happy seems less than his name implies upon spying Parker's homemade red tights, 'Didn't you see the case?'

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to be released on July 7th 2017

Marvel TV – Iron Fist

The First Official Stills From 'Iron Fist' Showcase Danny, Colleen, And Claire

With Marvel and Netflix’s fourth series, Iron Fist, set to hit the streaming service in just a few months time, Marvel and Netflix are finally beginning to ramp up promotion for the series. Following the release of the first full trailer back in October, the first official stills for the stills have now been released thanks to the folks over at IGN. And unsurprisingly, Rosario Dawson‘s Claire Temple, a character that has quickly become a fan favorite since she was first introduced back in Daredevil season one, joins both Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) in one of the photos. The images which are showcased above also feature the Meachum siblings – Joy (Jessica Stroup) and Ward (Tom Pelphrey).

Iron Fist will stream exclusively on Netflix on March 17th 2017

Marvel TV – Luke Cage

Although not entirely unexpected, Netflix officially announced that Marvel's Luke Cage will get a second season.

The show starring Mike Colter as the reluctant superhero has been a hit with critics and audiences alike, but Cage will also be a big part of Marvel's universe on Netflix in the near future.
Colter will team with cast members of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming Iron Fist for The Defenders. Of course, in the comics, Cage is best friends with Iron Fist and romantically involved with Jones.

There are no details about when the second season will premiere, but it will almost certainly be after The Defenders debuts in 2017.

Marvel TV – Inhumans

Marvel and ABC have hired Scott Buck to take on their ambitious Inhumans project. Buck is best known for working on shows such as Six Feet Under and Dexter, and he was most recently the showrunner on Netflix's Iron Fist series.

Even before taking on Iron Fist the guy had a solid track record with working on great shows as a writer, producer, and show-runner. Marvel obviously liked working with him on Iron Fist, and he obviously came to them with a great idea and an epic vision for The Inhumans, especially if they decided to bring him back on.

The first two episodes of The Inhumans series will be completely shot in IMAX and will premiere in theaters on IMAX screens on September 1st, 2017. The story is said to focus on Black Bolt and the Inhumans royal family. The series will make its TV debut on ABC on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, and it will consist of eight episodes.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Official Trailer

Yesterday, Brazil’s CCXP gave us our first look at Tom Holland in action in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and while those who weren’t in attendance weren’t lucky enough to see any of that footage, descriptions of it give us plenty to be excited about. Today, James Gunn appeared at the Marvel Studios panel to present new footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as well as a brand new trailer! It’s safe to assume that this trailer, which features more of Baby Groot and offers our very first look at Mantis, is the same one that will drop tonight on ESPN.

Marvel and Sony Pictures just had a panel at the Comic Con Experience 2016 in São Paulo, Brazil, and they showed off a new clip from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The footage screened confirmed previous rumors that Spider-Man's new costume will have web wings!

Thanks to Marvel's Ryan Penagos we have a description of the clip that revealed Spidey's cool new upgrade! Here's what he posted on Twitter: Spidey Wings

Spider-Man: Homecoming (Promo Poster)

While we wait for the rumored Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer attached to Rogue One to debut, we've got a promo poster to look at. Other than Spider-Man and the logo, we've got nothing to overthink or dissect here. This was snapped by fan account @tomhollandbr at an Italian VFX event.

Marvel (News)

Marvel Tops DC With Critics Choice Nominations

While both of DC's film offerings this year were incredibly successful at the box office this year, the films were anything but beloved by the critics. It makes sense then that Marvel Studios took the top honors with ease in this year's Critics Choice Awards nominations.

Doctor Strange alone was nominated more than the DC's film offerings combined, with nominations in Best Hair and Makeup, Best Visual Effects, Best Action Movie, Best Actor In An Action Movie (Benedict Cumberbatch), Best Actress In An Action Movie (Tilda Swinton), and Best Sci-Fi Horror Movie (via EW). Deadpool and Captain America: Civil War also made contributions, though, with Deadpool being nominated for Best Action Movie, Best Actor In An Action Movie (Ryan Reynolds), Best Comedy, and Best Actor In A Comedy (Ryan Reynolds).

Captain America: Civil War added three nominations for Best Action Movie, Best Actor In An Action Movie (Chris Evans), and Best Actress In An Action Movie (Scarlett Johansson).
DC had a rather dismal showing, and honestly, if it weren't for the stellar performances from their female cast, they wouldn't even have made the list at all. Both nominations were in the Best Actress In An Action Movie category, where Gal Gadot was nominated for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Margot Robbie was nominated for her turn as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. Both are well deserved, but DC and Warner Bros. can't have been pleased that either film was left out of every other category.

Next year has the potential to be much different, though. DC and Warner Bros. are starting off the year strong with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman solo film, and later in the year the anticipated team-up film Justice League will hit theaters, so hopefully this list will look less one-sided next year.
Of course, Marvel isn't slacking off either, with both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor Ragnarok slated for next year as well.

The winners will be revealed live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on A&E on Sunday, December 11 at 8PM ET/ 5PM PT.

In the new photo, Hulk and Thor are ready for battle. Hulk is wearing his Planet Hulk inspired Gladiator Hulk armor, shoulder cover, gigantic ax, and all. The big green gamma monster even has the red spikes from his helmet on display.

Doctor Strange Extended Movie Clip

Marvel's Doctor Strange is about to warp into US theaters, and Marvel Studios is making a final big promotional push to get fans into theater seats. After a slew of TV spots and featurettes all teasing the same footage, we finally get an extended clip from the film, which reveals a very big set piece.

WARNING: This is one of those clips that arguably show too much to fans who have been eagerly anticipating Doctor Strange, without wanting to spoil the experience for themselves.

This scene is set within New York City, presumably as Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) attempt to defend the Sanctum Sanctorum from the dark forces of Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen). What we see here are the sort of reality-warping mystical effects that make Doctor Strange's visuals look like a M.C. Escher painting.

Doctor Strange is set to be released in the US on November 4th 2016

Marvel TV - Defenders (Set Photos)

The Defenders has been in production since yesterday, and while the series is set to be the first team-up for all four of our Defenders – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist – the only star spotted on set yesterday was Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones). That looks to be changing, though, as a few new photos have hit today, bringing us our first look at the recently confirmed Simone Missick(Misty Knight). Thanks to a Reddit user, we have our first look at what appears to be the possible first meeting between Jessica and Misty, and surprisingly, we see Misty aiming her weapon at Jessica.

With filming on the eight episodes set to continue over the next few months, chances are we’ll begin seeing more of the cast as they get to work on the highly-anticipated mini-series.

The Defenders will debut exclusively on Netflix after March 2017

Marvel TV – Defenders (News)

The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix's equivalent of The Avengers in which the street-level heroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will all join forces to fight evil, has been confirmed to be eight episodes, and in a new announcement straight from Marvel itself, a director has been announced to tackle the first two episodes of the limited series.

Marvel.com says S.J. Clarkson has been tapped to helm the first two episodes. This marks a return to the MCU for Clarkson, who has previously directed episodes of Jessica Jones. She has even more history with Netflix, having directed some of Orange is the New Black as well.
“S.J.'s take on the material is outstanding. We loved her work on “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” and couldn’t think of a more talented and accomplished person to helm the first two episodes of “Marvel’s The Defenders,” said Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb.

Marvel TV - Punisher (Set Photos)

Filming officially began on Marvel and Netflix’s fifth series, The Punisher, earlier this month in New York and since then, we’ve seen a decent amount of set photos. Admittedly, most of the set photos have been less than revealing, with the one exception being the photos that originally revealed Deborah Ann Woll‘s Karen Page would be a part of the upcoming series. So it isn’t entirely surprising that the latest batch of photos are much of the same. The biggest takeaway? Jon Bernthal‘s Frank Castle appears to have gotten a buzzcut, much like he had during season two of Daredevil.
